The Curtains Will Peel Back on Viv Next Month

AI startup Viv has been in the spotlight due to the company’s high profile founders (who were behind Siri), and a very ramped up rumor mill for over a year now. Despite being in stealth mode, the company has been featured in major publications and from all of the early press, Viv looks bring digital assistants to a new level.
It has been announced that Viv co-founder and CEO Dag Kittlaus will appear onstage at the Disrupt NY 2016 conference in May to talk about the future of artificial intelligence and give the first public demonstration of what Viv has built.
The company’s goal is to become a platform for developers to add an intelligent, conversational interface for many varied applications. When Kittlaus left Apple, he wrote an article called ‘Siri Is Only The Beginning‘, and Viv is the result.
Viv expands on the work of Siri with a powerful conversational interface that can be used to accomplish much more than finding out the weather forecast, or launching an app. Early reports say that the new AI created by Viv actually can learn too.
According to the company website, "Viv is a global platform that enables developers to plug into and create an intelligent, conversational interface to anything. It is the simplest way for the world to interact with devices, services and things everywhere. Viv is taught by the world, knows more than it is taught, and learns every day."
The Viv team want to manufacture an underlying infrastructure that allows AI to be poured into apps, systems and experiences. Viv is counting on this broad application of AI to be as ubiquitous as a search button, and they’ve created some very real apps that utilize the system.
