Quote of the day

People say we're running out of energy. That's only true if we stick with these old 19th century technologies. We are awash in energy from sunlight.

Fanboys be Warned: Turns Out iOS Apps are Twice as Likely to Crash

RATE THIS! +17

There are a number of claims that Apple fanboys use to justify their fondness for a closed operating system. Something something regularity. Something something universal availability. Well I hate to break it to you, but it turns out iOS apps are twice as likely to crash compared to their Android counterparts.

According to Crittercism apps on iOS 7.1 have a crash rate of 1.7 per cent, the good news being that this tiny number is the lowest crash rate of any iOS operating system. The bad news is that apps on Android devices running version 4.0, or higher, only crash 0.7 per cent of the time. So for every Android app that crashes, more than two iOS apps have bitten the dust.

The statistics have reportedly come from monitoring over a billion iOS and Android apps, so Crittercism seem to have conducted their research properly. Then again, but these number are so meagre it's not really something to fret about. It's not like a one per cent difference is going to convert anyone.

They even say in this article that the difference is so small that we should not consider it - so why even write about it Reply

Competition is ongoing and a good thing. The prices should be sensible and reflect advances in technology Reply
